Lions - a wonderful city with an incredible history and traditions. A variety of cultural events there is not a rarity. From 1 to 3 June 2018, not only the whole of Ukraine, but also in foreign countries, representatives gathered for a unique festival - "Leopolis Grand Prix 2018".
Fans of vintage cars from Poland, the Baltic States, Hungary, Italy, arrived at their antique vehicles, in order to participate in the race and to show off his "iron horse". It had everything - from the collection of priceless models, such as, for example, the brainchild of Henry Ford that led him to fame, before the Soviet military equipment.
First "Leopolis Grand Prix"He was held in September 1930 - just one year later than the annular race the Grand Prix of Monaco (Monte Carlo). The track has a specific form and is called "Lviv Triangle".
It is not as simple as it seems: the slippery cobbles, tram track, elevation... Racers have to be alert at all times, moreover, that the decisive factor is not the passage of the track, and strict adherence to speed modes.
Organizers of the festival, which encouraged the participants and guests for the seventh time - Lviv auto-fan club "ZAZ-Kozak" (club of owners of the first Ukrainian car "Zaporozhets ZAZ-965"). For three days, I had the opportunity to look at the antique cars, to communicate with collectors and to discuss with experts the most fashionable colors this year machines, to participate in the rally (or the "cheer" for pets). Also the bright concert program was provided.
