Swedish scientists have calculated that mom and dad are living longer than childless men. After 60 years, the difference in life expectancy is about two years. Moreover, most of this difference comes to just men.
It turned out that after 60 years the parents are living longer on average more than 2 years, than their childless peers. This interesting study was published in the publication Journal of Epidemiology & Community Health.
To such conclusions scientists have analyzed the life expectancy of Swedish citizens older than 60 years (704 thousand men and 725 thousand women).
The study also explained why the age difference is particularly characteristic in men, whereas for women the differences are less significant.
The shorter life expectancy of childless men, experts say, due to the fact that men are less educated, on Compared with women and less independent, which affects their ability to care for themselves and general motivation in the elderly age.
The experts also admit that childlessness usually affects the life span only in adulthood, and in his youth this figure is quite low.
