From the new year, for free travel, the capital's schoolchildren will need electronic student tickets. How to order it and how long will it take to produce it?
Starting from the new year, all Kiev schoolchildren should "switch" to electronic student tickets. The paper pupils of the old image will be valid only until the end of December. While distance learning is at schools, it's time to order such a card for your child. The Kyiv City State Administration warns that the timing of the production of electronic student tickets can vary from several days to several weeks.

An electronic student card is an individual student card. According to the standard approved by the Kyiv City State Administration, it contains all the student's personal data. This is the last name, first name and patronymic, digital photo, name of the educational institution, number, date of issue and expiration date of the ticket, as well as a unique barcode. It is in this barcode that the main difference between an electronic ticket and an old paper "booklet" lies. If earlier, for free travel on public transport, a student had to show his a ticket to the driver, now it is enough to attach the ticket with a barcode to the travel card validation scanner documents.

The main function of an electronic student card is a travel document. By law, pupils of the capital's schools can use all types of municipal public transport (metro, bus, trolleybus, tram) free of charge. And if inspectors often let small schoolchildren pass "by sight", then they really demand such a document from high school students.
In the future, they promise to "connect" other options to the electronic student card. So, for example, a year ago KSCA promised that parents will be able to use this document track the movement of your child during the day. True, such a feature is not yet available, because tickets are in test operation until the end of the year. However, even now, the electronic student card can be added to the mobile application "Digital Kiev" and used when traveling not by the document itself, but by its "telephone" version.

Now schoolchildren in transport can use two types of tickets - both electronic and paper have equal validity. But from January, as planned by the authorities, the old "little books" will be abolished. Therefore, parents of schoolchildren should hurry up, because a little more than a month is left for ordering and preparing documents. It is the parents who will have to be confused about this issue: for some reason, the order of new student tickets was shifted onto their shoulders (although it would be more logical if the school was centralized in this).
It is not difficult to apply for the issue of an electronic student card. To do this, you need to go to the site scard.kyivcity.gov.ua, register on it and find your child's card in the list of capital schoolchildren. You need to add this card to your account and order an electronic ticket. However, the application will not go into work until the data is confirmed by the employee of the school where your child is studying. That is why there are delays in the production of documents of up to several weeks, according to the Kyiv City State Administration.
If your application has been “hanging” in the database for quite a long time, you need to call the school directly - after all, the problem is there. It may also be that your child's card is simply absent in the database: this happens if the school has not submitted data on students in full. In this case, you should again contact the school and ask to "bring" the necessary information. This can also take some time and delay the process of obtaining a ticket.
After the document is ready, parents will receive a notification by mail (which was indicated during registration on the site). You will be able to pick up your student card in a few days at school. You do not need to activate it, the ticket is completely ready for use. The Kyiv City State Administration says that even with daily use, the period of its uninterrupted operation should be at least three years.
