Vaccination against COVID-19 is in full swing. How to prepare for vaccination to avoid complications? What tests do I need to pass? Therapist tells

Thousands of Ukrainians are vaccinated daily. So, on July 12, slightly more than 89 thousand people were vaccinated. And last Friday the record was set - more than 109 thousand. Fortunately, in most cases, things work out well. People note that after the vaccination, there may be weakness, a rise in temperature, and pain at the injection site. True, there were some troubles. So, in July, in Vinnitsa, 4 hours after vaccination, a man died. The Ministry of Health did not confirm the connection between the lethal outcome and the vaccination. It was not installed after the deaths in March, when a woman in the Odessa region and a man in Chernivtsi died a few days after the introduction of the coronavirus vaccine. The world also does not do without deaths after vaccination. So, recently in the USA after the Pfizer vaccination a 13-year-old boy died

. These tragic incidents make you wonder how you can still spread straws and prepare for vaccination. We talked about this with a therapist of the highest category, professor of the therapy department of the Ukrainian Military Medical Academy, Maryana Selyuk.

1. Checking your chronic illness

If you suffer from any chronic disease, for example, diabetes mellitus, it is necessary to check before vaccination in what state it is - in the stage of exacerbation or remission. If it has worsened, it is better to postpone vaccination and wait for remission. For example, in the case of diabetes mellitus, it is important that during vaccination, this disease is in the stage of compensation, that is, the level of glycated hemoglobin should not exceed 7%.

2. We do a general blood test

It will show, for example, whether some latent inflammatory process is taking place in the body, whether some kind of virus "sits" in you, whether a person suffers from anemia.

3. We maintain quarantine before and after vaccination

Ideally, based on the incubation period of the coronavirus, during the week before vaccination, minimize contact with other people. After it, it is also better to self-isolate within 2-3 days.

4. Checking antibodies

Many were asymptomatic or symptomatic with coronavirus, but did not get the test. Therefore, before vaccination, you can do an analysis for antibodies and check if you have them. If there are many of them, then there is no point in vaccination.
