Youtube

Geoboard is an educational toy that includes a net of pins around which children wrap elastic bands or threads. Geoboard is just a salvation if you don't know what to do with your child on the road.

Materials:

  • graph paper;
  • board, foam or thick cardboard;
  • universal glue;
  • buttons with multi-colored plastic heads;
  • gum;
  • glue brush;
  • Scotch.

So:

Cut a square out of graph paper. You can leave a small outer edge around the board if you like.

Youtube

Cut the board (foam or cardboard) to fit the size of the paper. If you plan on making a geoboard out of cardboard and want it to be thicker, make two layers of cardboard.
Spread a layer of all-purpose glue on the base (board, cardboard, or styrofoam). Place a second base coat if needed and press down.

Youtube

Spread another layer of glue over the second part of the base. Carefully attach graph paper and squeeze out any air bubbles.
Apply another layer of glue on top of the checkerboard paper to secure it.

Insert the buttons into the base on the glue that is still wet, and then press firmly against the geoboard. Adding glue to the buttons will secure them in place on the board and prevent them from popping out when the child strips off the rubber bands during play.
Allow the geoboard to dry completely.
When the glue is dry, tape the edges of the geoboard to prevent the graph paper from peeling and peeling up.
