Celebrating Teacher's Day in Ukraine and the world
Teachers' Day in Ukraine was first celebrated in 1994 with the support of UNESCO and the International Labor Organization.
The holiday appeared thanks to a document created in France in 1966 at the Special Intergovernmental Conference.
It is noteworthy that UNESCO celebrates Teachers' Day every year on October 5, and in Ukraine they decided to fix the holiday on the first Sunday of the second month.
Traditions of celebrating Teacher's Day
On Teacher's Day, schoolchildren give flowers to their favorite teachers; in some schools, special editions of wall newspapers are published.As a rule, the lessons on this day are shortened, high school students are instructed to conduct lessons so that the heroes of the occasion can rest. Not only children, but also their parents can congratulate teachers.
