Bad grades are not always the result of laziness or low ability.

Sometimes kids volunteer to get bad appraisals. Why it happens?

1. Excessive requirements of parents

If the parents are not satisfied with any grade other than the highest, and it is not always possible to get it, then the child does not see any reason to even try. After all, he will get a good score or even a two - the adults will scold the same.

2. Lack of praise

The child studies well - and the parents take it for granted, do not praise and encourage her. Accordingly, motivation is lost, the desire to achieve something. Subconsciously, there is a desire to show parents a clear difference, which can receive bad grades, so that success becomes more noticeable in contrast.

3. The teacher is not suitable for the child

The student is obliged to obey the teacher - but this does not mean that he teaches interestingly, disposes to himself, tries to find a common language, deserves respect.

If the child is bored, or the teacher nags at him, or there are other problems in communicating with the teacher, the child does not understands what he teaches and why, cannot for some reason get a high mark - then he loses incentive and does not even try try.

4. It is fashionable to be a poor student

The child looks up to his peers in order to get a certain social status, authority. If in his environment it is considered "cool" to study badly, skip classes, not do homework, disrupt lessons - then this behavior will be partly repeated by your child.

It is important to show him another example of coolness, or even change the team.

5. The child needs attention

When he studies well, behaves well, then the parents pay less attention. Accordingly, the easiest way to remind yourself is to get a bad mark, "deserve" the parents' call to the director, etc.

To prevent this, you need to pay more attention to the child, delve into his school life, and praise for achievements (even very small ones).
