The child does not want to learn: 5 reasons and ways to eliminate them

The desire to learn is inherent in every person since childhood, but the reluctance to learn from everyone is due to special reasons.

If your child does not want to learn, do not rush to hang labels on him, swear and despair. First of all, you need to find out what exactly blocks his natural instinct development and learning.

1. Can't meet the requirements

This is especially often observed in private schools, where they are trying very hard to justify the cost of education by raising children to be comprehensively developed: so that they succeed in sports, in science, and in creativity. But not every child can do it. And the feeling that you are worse than the rest, and do not have time to express yourself everywhere and immediately, is very demotivating.

This problem can arise in a free school with regular requirements. The cause can be a child's hyperactivity, attention deficit disorder, dyslexia, and a number of other problems.

What to do? Recognize that your child may "fall short" of your ideal. You can, of course, deprive him of his childhood and load with additional lessons with tutors, but much it is more effective to help him develop in the most interesting direction and not to show excessive requirements.

2. Problems with teachers

This is a factor that can never be predicted. There are really despotic teachers, there are really disgusting students.

And there is such a coincidence that your child is so unable to find a common language with a specific teacher, class teacher or principal that it discourages him from going to school.

What to do? Try to find a compromise: calmly talk with the teacher, the director and the child himself (with each separately). If after negotiations the situation does not change for the better, it is worth thinking about changing the class or school.

3. Class problems

If the child can still endure the unloved teacher, then the bullying from the classmates is very difficult to survive. When a child has no friends and is not recognized in the team, or even insulted and humiliated, then he thinks about learning last.

What to do? Of course, in such a situation, you want to rush to protect your child, deal with children and their parents and complain to all authorities. However, the most correct way is to visit a psychologist and talk with the class teacher.

4. Total control

When parents constantly demand from the child to study well, scold for low grades, check homework, a diary, do not give "breathe freely", constantly control, do not trust, doubt - then the child's study is associated with torment and parental despotism. Accordingly, one does not want to study for evil.

What to do? Build trust in your relationship with your child. Let him go his own way, make mistakes - but provide a reliable rear, to which the baby can turn, if he sees fit.

Of course, parents are forced to study, go to music school and other activities, it seems to them, with the best intentions. But pressure and coercion in education never bear the fruits for which they are used.

5. Inability to study independently

In the classroom, the child acts according to the instructions and prompts of the teacher, but at home, sitting alone before homework, can become confused. It begins to seem to him that he did not understand the topic, the material was too complicated, and the interest in studying instantly falls.

What to do? Help your child get ready for independent work. Ask about the passed topic, ask in what order what tasks he will perform. It is also worth showing the child clearly how best to alternate rest and study so that they have the strength to complete their homework.
