Teenage girl is complex about her appearance: how to react to parents

From Monday to Thursday, at 18:00 at STB, four mothers continue to compete for the title of the best.

The participants share their views on parenting, life hacks and traditions. They not only exchange knowledge among themselves, but also receive advice from the lead project - Dmitry Karpachev.

The heroine of reality Irina is raising 11-year-old Sophia. Mom confesses that she loves to visit beauty salons with her daughter, do a manicure together and even... go for depilation! According to Sofia, at school she was told about extra hairs on her face, and this made her complex. Mom approached the issue radically - she and her daughter got rid of unwanted hair. Not all participants supported this decision.

Dmitry Karpachev noted that if the issue can be easily resolved, it is better to do it: “From the age of 12, how a child is perceived by peers becomes critically important for him. If your child has physical flaws that can be easily corrected, it's worth doing. There is nothing wrong with improving your appearance. This is work on yourself. Just like eating right or exercising. Another controversial point was the systematic visits to beauty salons, including visits to manicure and hair dyeing. Some moms shared their opinion that it is too early for a 12-year-old girl. An expert on child developmental psychology Dmitry Karpachev noted that such a ritual could be beneficial in the future.

“The fact that mom goes to a beauty salon with her daughter for a manicure is a very good method of bonding. They form joint girlish rituals. Men and sons have a similar experience when they play football or go fishing together. In addition, the child gets used to systematic self-care, which is very important for a girl, ” - Dmitry explains.
