Irina had a friendly family, and a lot of relatives. So it was accepted that if someone had a large harvest of vegetables and fruits, everything was divided among everyone. Time passed, there was no longer a need to supply each other with food, but all relatives supported each other in communication.
It seemed to Irina that all relatives always helped each other in some way. But it only seemed to her. In fact, everyone used only their benefits, Irina's family helped everyone, but received nothing in return.
Irina's parents were able to open their own business. To do this, I had to live not in a big way for several years, but when things went uphill, they began to live comfortably. Relatives knew about it, asked for a loan, but did not give back, often came to visit to live, and used all the benefits for free. And Irina, who had previously graduated from the Institute of Foreign Languages, taught her nephews English for free. And also all this for a simple “thank you”, or even without it.
Yes, and it was difficult to refuse relatives. Irina even felt sorry for them, because they did not have as much money as they would like, and there were no opportunities like Irina's family either.
But, as soon as Irina's family needed help, everyone turned away from them. The father became very ill. And he found out about it by chance, he had a normal condition. He was just undergoing a routine examination at the hospital. A disease detected in time was treatable, all that was needed was money, and a lot of it.
I had to spend all my savings, pull money out of the business, sell Irina's apartment, which was recently bought. They began to ask for help from relatives, because there was simply no money to pay for the treatment. But everyone began to refuse, someone bought a dacha, someone married a daughter, someone said that everything was on deposits, and there was no way to withdraw. Only my mother's second cousin helped. He transferred his last 10 thousand rubles, he really didn’t have more. If then everyone offered at least 5 thousand, there would be plenty of money.
The mother wanted to sell the business, but the father did not allow it. Then she took out a loan and mortgaged the apartment. I got a job as an accountant in a foreign company, and headed my own. The money raised was enough for treatment and for the restoration of his father after recovery. They fought for two years, and were able to defeat the disease.
When my father stood up and got stronger, he himself began to lead the company. Gradually, things got better, and went up the hill. Prosperity has returned to normal. Irina bought herself a new apartment. All debts were paid off, and everything was fine. Mother's brother was attached to his company for a good salary. The rest of the relatives found out that the affairs of Irina's family went uphill, and began to call, not understanding why they did not communicate with them. And Irina, like her father and mother, firmly decided for themselves that they would definitely not help anyone else.
There have already been attempts by relatives to come to visit. But Irina's father referred to employment, he is not going to sort things out. No one is obliged to help, this is a matter of conscience. It's just a shame that people don't remember good things, they "taste" other people's blessings with pleasure, but they didn't want to help when there was such a difficult life situation.
Let them think that Irina's family is snickering, that they are greedy, arrogant and all that sort of thing. This is their business, no one is going to take revenge. Life itself will put everything in its place.
Unfortunately, there are many such situations now. You wouldn't wish such relatives on your enemy!
